Palmetto Point park was created after Lake County recently completed a stormwater project on the city-owned property. As part of the project, work crews built a half-mile trail around a new retention pond and installed landscaping and fencing. Crews also cleared an adjacent property of vegetation and built a grassy multipurpose field that can be used for soccer, football and other sports.
